"It takes two to make in the bush."
I'm not entirely sure what the correct response is to that...

hey bertie
i've been meaning to ask, where in the uk are you? are you in england? we lived in oxford for a year when i was 4but i was in london this past fall for the first time since then, and it was such an incredible time. this is one of the best things about fandom, don't you think? connecting with people from all over the world....

I'm actually in London at the minute (training weekend *yawn*) but it is a great city. I'm at university in Oxford which is possibly the nicest city I've been in, but I live up North in Manchester (home of Man U) the rest of the time. *rereads* Did that make sense?

Where in the US are you from?

yes, indeed, that all made sense. will you return to manchester once your studies are done? and what are you studying there at that extremely prestigious university? she says with no hint of jealousy at all.

i live in the pacific northwest in a lovely town called portland in the state of oregon. my lj template has a sort of picture of the city from the west hills (the portland rose garden) looking east to mt hood. we're a sort of green oasis politically and geographically here. it's a strange and good place to live. have you ever had a chance to come to the states?

Yay for sense! I'm not sure where I'll go after uni as I'm only on my first year of a four year course, but Manchester's definitely a possibility, as is London. As for the "prestigious university" I'm studying Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek) and am probably there to make up the numbers. :)

*googles Portland, Oregon* Ooh. Pretty. It does look kind of oasis-y but I really don't know that much about NW America. I've been to NY a couple of times with my family, but I spent 6 weeks camping and travelling round the US with a small tour group last year which was beyond amazing. Everything's just so much bigger/better/shinier there...
