netflix is happy-making

since i bought a new computer, i finally have the software to use netflix's on-demand viewing.  oh you guys.  what a dream. it's awesome.  they seem to be adding titles all the time and adding really new stuff too.  like i can see the united states of tara which i've been curious about.  and since i have computer/television connectivity, i can watch on my big screen without having to buy one of their machines.  oh yeah, bb.  like i need more ways to be a media consumer and sit on my ass.   but i know you know how marvy this is.

also the kitchen is done.  it is beautiful.  concrete countertops and new paint and new sink and new wall-mounted faucet. it's kind of like having a whole brand new house. and now i can finally put down the rug that sort of inspired the whole thing!  except the domino effect is that now i have to paint the living room as well 'cause the new colors make the old living room color look all washed out--not bad, mind you, but washed out.  yeah.  but i think that'll wait til summer break. it's wonderful to have my home back with no worker guys (as enzo calls them) in and out.  and the mess.  oh the mess. dust everywhere.  dirt everywhere.  done!!!!  all done!!!!  and also i don't have to worry about leaving my bra hanging on the closet doorknob which i did one day and was vaguely mortified by it when i got home and saw it drooping there. ahem.  my kitchen is done!!!

and now since i'm up so early, i'm going to watch the first ep of season 2 oz.  i am totally hooked.  i love harold perrineau in this, but actually all the guys are wonderful.  here's a funny thing: jk simmons who plays vern schillinger on the show bears such an uncanny resemblance to my drummer that i'm a little bowled over and now crushing on both of them...what makes it really funny is that schillinger's character is an aryan nation asshat and i'm a jew.  but sessy's in the eye of the beholder, i s'pose.  does that make me pervy?  hmm.  questions for the ages.

eta: not that it matters but i've rediscovered my supernatural love too. i kinda forgot about it post-writer's strike, but when i remembered i wanted to catch up was able to find the end of 3rd season as well as all the 4th season eps.  so i'm mainlining that as well.  oh tv how i love you.  and soon i'll be able to finally read the (awesome-sounding) fic i've missed chez svilleficrecs !  so go, team me!

Ooh! You're starting into the Chris Keller seasons now. I think he comes in around the 3rd or 4th ep of season 2, but I could be wrong.

Oh, gah, Schillinger! I both hated him and found him amusing over the course of the series, and I hated it when they made me feel compassion for him. To the point where I winced when watching JK Simmons on SVU. Although, I loved him Juno. "Thank you for having me and my irresponsible child over to your house."

i know it's a little weird, this schillinger thing. i think it's cause he looks like matt but it might just be him.....dunno. and maybe it's best not to probe too deeply.

you're right--he's shows up in ep 4. can't wait to get meloni in the mix. i love this show!

Well, he does have those striking blue eyes, and Simmons is obviously an excellent actor.

Oz was one of those series that fascinated me and which I loved, but it wasn't one that I'd watch over and over again, I think because it was sometimes difficult to watch. Keller was my 'oh my god so hot' guy, but the two i found most fascinating were Said and Beecher. I'm always up for talking Oz, so feel free to blather on as you go!

Oh man. This is the thing, if you sort of fall for Meloni? You're pretty much fucked.

Also, seasons 1 and 2 and 3 of SVU are pretty much amazing in a 'holy crap these people are hot and have chemistry' sort of way. It's just those last two seasons that trample on your heart.

Gah!
